 Omtalen bliver større og større efterhånden som tiden nærmer sig Nintendos 3DS udgivelse. Men ét spørgsmål har vækket gru hos mange hardcore fans: Vil den være regionslåst? Nu svarer Nintendo. At den vil være regionslåst. 3DS maskinen og spillene, vil være inddelt i tre regioner: Amerika, Asian, og Europa/Australien. Stortset alt software vil være bundet til en af disse regioner. Den hovedsagelige grund til dette, forklarer Nintendo er spillenes aldersmærkning, sprog, overensstemmelse med regionernes love mm.
