Nogle favoritter?

Total Recall (1990)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100802/?ref_=nv_sr_1
A classic sci-fi flick by acclaimed director Paul Verhoeven starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. (There’s also a 2012 version but this is the real deal).Doug Quaid (Schwarzenegger), a construction worker with a beautiful wife (Stone) and home in in the year 2084, decides to take a virtual vacation to Mars as a secret agent. When things go wrong during the artificial memory implantation process, Quaid reacts violently and must figure out if his life as Quaid or as the secret agent is his true life.

The Expanse (2015)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3230854/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
One of last year’s absolute favourite TV series on Netflix.

A police detective in the asteroid belt, the first officer of an interplanetary ice freighter and an earth-bound United Nations executive slowly discover a vast conspiracy that threatens the Earth’s rebellious colony on the asteroid belt.
Oh, did we mention that Season 2 is just out? Yummy.

12 Monkeys (1995)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114746/?ref_=nv_sr_2
If you haven’t watched this one before, it’s about time. Bruce Willis AND Brad Pitt together can’t go wrong.

In a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.

Dark Matter (2015)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4159076/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Another worth-to-watch TV series from 2015.

Six people wake up on a deserted spaceship. They can’t remember who they are or what they’re doing there. They set off to find answers.

Alien (1979)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078748/?ref_=nv_sr_2
No description is really necessary for this space epic, if you don’t already know who Ripley and her Nemesis are, well…it’s your loss.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Weird, wonderful and beautiful epic from Stanley Kubrick. A must see for any sci-fi aficionado.Humanity finds a mysterious, obviously artificial object buried beneath the Lunar surface and, with the intelligent computer H.A.L. 9000, sets off on a quest.

The Thing (1982)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084787/
A favourite director of ours John Carpenter (did anyone say Escape from New York?) delivers as always in this classic remake.A research facility in Antarctica comes across an alien force that can become anything it touches with 100% accuracy. The members must now find out who’s human and who’s not before it’s too late.

Space: 1999 (1975)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072564/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Is there anything more exciting on the moon than this? A classic series from the ‘70s.

The crew of Moonbase Alpha must struggle to survive when a massive explosion throws the Moon from orbit into deep space.

Battlestar Galactica (1978 and more)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077215/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4
Originally created by legend Glen A. Larson*, there are so many incarnations of this wonderful franchise so we’ll just list the original movie but you’ll thank us for encouraging you to explore the entire Battlestar Galactica universe.

After the destruction of the Twelve Colonies of Mankind, the last major fighter carrier leads a makeshift fugitive fleet in a desperate search for the legendary planet Earth.

Bonus knowledge
* Battlestar Galactica, Alias Smith & Jones, Knight Rider, Magnum P.I. to mention just a few –http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0488991/?ref_=tt_ov_wr

Bladerunner (1982)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/?ref_=nv_sr_2
THE sci-fi movie and likely Ridley Scott’s and Harrison Ford’s masterpiece.

A blade runner must pursue and try to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator. Based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Does Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and yes sometimes it’s worth picking up a book.

The movie also includes what has become one of the most classic quotes in movie history:
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time… like tears in rain… Time to die.”

Gattaca (1997)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Timeless and thought provoking movie about a genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior one in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel.

Pandorum (2009)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1188729/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Claustrophobic space thriller that unnerves even the most avid sci-fi enthusiast.

A pair of crew members aboard a spaceship wake up with no knowledge of their mission or their identities.

Elysium (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1535108/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Chappie) delivers.

In the year 2154, the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. A man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

Pitch Black (2000)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0134847/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Vin Diesel (almost) never disappoints and definitely not in this prequel to now classic The Chronicles of Riddick.

A commercial transport ship and its crew are marooned on a planet full of bloodthirsty creatures that only come out to feast at night. But then, they learn that a month-long eclipse is about to occur. *shiver*
So there you are, enough of inspirational movies to keep your trembling little heart still until the release of Prey om May 5th.
*sigh*
