Acer’s recently launched Predator Connect W6 wireless router has joined the NVIDIA GeForce NOW recommended program, enabling cloud-based games to be played in an ultrafast and stable gaming environment, automatically optimized for high resolutions and frame rates with beautifully ray-traced graphics. GeForce NOW supports more than 1,600 titles, with new games added weekly. Gamers can enjoy AAA blockbuster hits like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate III, A Plague Tale: Requiem, among many others. The new router, which also supports the Wi-Fi 6E specification, certified by TÜV Rheinland, is designed to provide gamers with the best possible experience when playing games on the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service at up to 4K at 120 frames per second or 1080p at 240 fps. It is aimed at the international market for leisure and e-sports where speed is critical.
The router QoS (Quality of Service) software has been developed by Acer collaboratively with NVIDIA to deliver an optimal GeForce NOW gaming experience, undergoing six months of the strictest network testing to ensure that it can consistently deliver the high performance required for 4K 120 fps gaming with ray tracing. The router is optimized for low latency and near-zero packet and frame loss, resulting in a ‘best-in-class’ online gaming experience. The Acer Predator Connect Mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple app store and used to manage the Acer Predator Connect W6 remotely via a smartphone or tablet.
Based on a 2GHz Quadcore Arm Cortex Processor, 1GB DDR4 RAM and 4GB ROM and Hybrid QoS software, the router delivers fast and seamless connectivity to the newly opened 6GHz tri-band Wi-Fi network. With multiple Wi-Fi 6E connections, the top-of-its-class Predator Connect router allows gamers to hit peak speed of up to 7.8Gbps while supporting low latencies of ~2ms, which practically eradicates the chance for the router to suffer from stuttering, congestion, and latency.
GeForce NOW reduces latency through faster game rendering, more efficient encoding, and higher streaming frame rates, and the Predator Connect W6 Wi-Fi 6E Router itself is packed with multiple technologies to create an ultrafast, hybrid network. Hybrid QoS software, compatible with the Intel® Killer™ Prioritization Engine, is designed to detect and accelerate network traffic for maximized speed. Gamers can take full control with device and application prioritization and give their signals a boost by calibrating coverage of the Wi-Fi signal to their PC by adjusting the six antennas accordingly. The corresponding LED lights on the router indicate the signal strength via a series of colors.
The router’s installed Auto Configuration Server (ACS) software scans the Wi-Fi environment to determine if and where congestion is causing issues and, with a simple click, allows gamers to hop onto the least congested channel of the connected Wi-Fi bands. Finally, the router’s Intelligent Device Recognition software enables it to function on any device or app, and the built-in Trend MicroTM Home Security Engine keeps malicious sites and potential attacks at bay through IoT security protection.
