Det er 28 år siden at du kunne koloniserer rummet på noget nørdede Acorn RISC OS platform. Nu er det så tilgængeligt på Steam til små 40 kroner. Det er noget af et fund for alle som går med en retro gamer i maven.
After a 28-year wait, publisher Artex Software’s first title from 1997 is now available for the first time on PC via Steam. Originally released on the Acorn RISCOS platform, the title will now be playable for a large group of retro space exploration fans. In Exodus: The Colonization of Space, players explore and colonize the galaxy, discover planets, and battle numerous aliens. Exodus: The Colonization of Space is now available on Steam for €4.99 / $4.99 / £4.29.
Exodus: The Colonization of Space is a turn-based strategy simulation in which players can both explore and colonize solar systems. Each planet has its own map on which cities, factories, farms, and much more can be built. However, colonization must not be carried out recklessly, as the characteristics and resources of the conquered planet play an important role in the success of a new civilization. Clever planning is required to avoid disasters or to be prepared for them early on, so that a new world can not just survive but thrive.
This is Exodus: The Colonization of Space:
- Making new rules: In their own civilization, players decide the laws themselves. However, caution is advised here as well. If the local population is dissatisfied, a rebellion is only one poor decision away.
- Attack, defense and conquest: To defend new colonies or expand to other planets, troops can be trained and sent into turn-based battles on a tactical map.
- Progress is key: Those who invest money in science can look forward to new inventions that bring passive bonuses or active improvements such as automated processes.
- Support and personnel: Players who don’t want to do everything themselves can seek out capable officers who can lend a hand in various areas of operation.
- No one is alone in the galaxy: In the vast universe of Exodus, there are numerous leaders of other galaxies, pesky space pirates, and natural challenges such as meteorites and supernovas that players must overcome.
The development studio Artex was active from 1997 to 1999, and now, after a quarter of a century, Artex is returning with its debut title as a publisher, finally making it available to many players via the PC platform.
