Pearl Abyss fortsætter med at pumpe opdateringer ud til Crimson Desert i et tempo, der efterhånden begynder at ligne speedrunning.

Den nyeste opdatering er nu landet, og denne gang er fokus især rettet mod spillets bosskampe og de alternative spilbare karakterer.

Den største nyhed handler om Rematch-systemet, som blev introduceret tidligere på måneden. Funktionen giver spillere mulighed for at kæmpe mod tidligere besejrede bosser igen, enten i deres originale version eller skaleret op til spillerens nuværende niveau.

Nu bliver systemet udvidet yderligere, så endnu flere bosser kan udfordres igen, herunder flere af de tidligere Abyss-bosser. De er dog blevet justeret, så kampene nu foregår på land i stedet for deres oprindelige områder.

Samtidig gør Pearl Abyss det mindre risikabelt at hoppe direkte tilbage i kampene. Forbrugte items bliver nemlig refunderet efter en Rematch, så spillere ikke skal frygte at spilde ressourcer på endnu et forsøg mod en boss, der tydeligvis stadig hader dem personligt.

Opdateringen forbedrer også karaktererne Oongka og Damiane, som tidligere har fået kritik for at føles mere begrænsede end hovedkarakteren Kliff.

Spillere mente ganske enkelt, at de to manglede nok abilities og fede kampmuligheder, og det ser ud til, at Pearl Abyss har lyttet. Damiane får nu nye nærkampsangreb uden våben, mens både hun og Oongka får adgang til et nyt luftangreb. Kliff får samtidig mulighed for at bruge Blinding Flash Finisher uden våben.

Det hele passer godt ind i Pearl Abyss’ ret specielle tilgang til opdateringer. Studiet har nemlig bevidst undgået en traditionel roadmap og arbejder i stedet direkte ud fra feedback fra spillerne. Resultatet har været en konstant strøm af patches og forbedringer siden lanceringen i marts.

Selvom spillerne generelt virker tilfredse med tempoet, er der stadig mange, der venter på noget endnu større. Heldigvis har Pearl Abyss allerede bekræftet, at DLC til Crimson Desert er under udvikling, selvom detaljerne stadig holdes hemmelige.

Med det tempo studiet arbejder i lige nu, føles det ærligt talt som om næste opdatering allerede er på vej, før man når at lukke patch notes-vinduet.

  • Fixed an issue where the icon for the “Sword of Starlight” differed from its actual appearance.
  • Fixed an issue where, when playing with a controller, certain key guides shown in the bottom-right area of the screen would display keyboard and mouse inputs.

Graphics & Settings

  • Fixed a GPU crash issue that occurred with AMD driver version 26.5.1.

Localization

  • Fixed various localization errors and improved localization quality across all languages.

  • Fixed an issue where, when the “Display Melee Weapons” option was set to “Selected Only”, the sheath for a two-handed sword would be displayed while a one-handed sword and shield were equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where equipment equipped on horses would disappear in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue where lions, tigers, and large wolves would fall over every time they were hit.
  • Fixed an issue where other actions could be performed while attacking on horseback.
