Så er der action shooter fra Red Square Games. Det er en mindre polsk udvikler der med dette debut spil får deres første titel ud til alle PC gamere. Du kan finde det på Steam, Epic og GOG.

Red Square Games S.A. – independent studio established in 2020 by game development veterans announces the launch of its debut SlavicPunk: Oldtimer project for PC. The game development process took two years, and it is on 28 June 2023 that the team plans to release its PC version of the game.

The game will be made available via Steam and GOG, and work is also underway with the game being made available through Epic Store. Console ports are planned for Q3/Q4 2023.

Prior to the game’s full-scale launch, the studio has created a special demo version for the players, made available as early as 19 June 2023 during Steam Next Fest as well as on GOG. The demo takes the players straight onto an action-ready arena where they can face a selection of enemies, learning the game’s ins and outs without disclosing the main premises of the storyline.

SlavicPunk: Oldtimer is an isometric shooter, its story based upon the literary works by Michał Gołkowski, a renown Polish science-fiction and fantasy author. It was Michał Gołkowski that created the story of Yanus, a private investigator with a troubled past, who now tries to resolve what seems to be his last case. Attempting to retrieve a stolen data carrier, Yanus fights not only the city gangs, but also his inner demons as he unravels the mystery of a nigh-omnipotent corporation responsible for the downfall of the city he once used to call his own.

Prominent game features:

  • Slav-life, Hi-tech – a unique mix of cyberpunk and neo-noir tropes with a defining Slavic trait. Have you ever wondered how Slavs would cope with a dystopian future run by malicious corporations, electronic body augmentations and synthetic food, being surrounded by a barely functional technology? Well, now it’s the time to check it out.
  • Neo-noir story – meet Yanus, a troubled private investigator fighting his inner demons, an array of city gangs and an ominous corporation that apparently brought down the city he once loved. Discover what lurks beneath the bright neon light and the cold concrete walls of this world in a story by Michał Gołkowski – a best-selling sci-fi and fantasy author.
  • Responsive combat and movement systems – each and every weapon has its own, unique character and tons of upgrades, allowing to customize one’s experience in ploughing through the City streets to individual taste and preference, and the movement system enriched with abilities allowing you to escape any tight situation unscathed… Well, almost.
  • Battlehacking – our own hi-tech spellcasting system, since this is what it is! A welltimed Battlehack can tip the scales to your favour in even what seems to be the ost dire of situations. Sometimes, a direct confrontation with an enemy is not necessary – it’s enough to distract, incapacitate or eliminate them from afar, saving your ammo and strength for when it’s really needed.
  • Genuine atmosphere – SlavicPunk: Oldtimer graphic and artistic style shows a realistically grim, dismal and charmingly chaotic vision of what a hypothetical CentralEastern European city would look like in a cyberpunk-ish setting and what would clearly set it aside from, say, Blade Runner’s L.A. of Akira’s Neo Tokyo. In its essence, it is a retro-futurist and a bit more dystopian vision of the world that we, the dev team, all grew in – one full of people doomed to count on themselves only, making what they can out of what little they have, often resorting to their wits, guile and sheer luck to make their ends meet – without losing their minds and lives in the process.
