Actor Henry Cavill nearly missed the opportunity to play Superman because he was engrossed in playing World of Warcraft. During a pivotal phone call from director Zack Snyder offering him the role in Man of Steel, Cavill was in the middle of a gaming session and ignored the call. In his own words “[he] was playing World of Warcraft, and had [his] priorities straight,” Fortunately, he quickly realized his mistake, called Snyder back, and secured the role, launching his iconic portrayal of Superman.

The character Leeroy Jeniks was popularized in 2005 when the World of Warcraft player charged recklessly into a battle, shouting his name, while his team was carefully planning a meticulous battle plan.
